The Sprinter Conductor Plate, And Why It Causes No-Shift Faults

Updated 2026-02-02

The conductor plate is the electrical hub inside the Sprinter transmission. When it fails, the van can get stuck in limp mode, lose reverse, or shift erratically. It is a common and repairable fault that does not usually mean the whole transmission is bad.

What it does

The conductor plate routes signals to the transmission solenoids and speed sensors. A crack or worn contact scrambles those signals.

The good news

Replacing the conductor plate and resetting adaptations often restores normal shifting without a full transmission rebuild. We test to confirm before recommending bigger work.
